For the young person it is more than just developing industry skills and experience, but for many it is an opportunity for them to:

  • Build their confidence and self-esteem
  • Be inspired and mentored by experts in your business
  • Receive additional support and guidance especially if they are unsure about what to do with their future
What's included in the programme?
  • Students will be aged between 16-19
  • The work placement can be in any department, in any role, with an assigned mentor
  • Not limited to one place per organisation
  • Person on placement will also be in training 2 days per week at one of our local training centres - improving their Maths and English qualifications and developing their employability skills
  • Support will be given to each employer - helping to develop clear objectives for the individual, an assigned account manager for any assistance and any further support needed
Will I need to give them a permanent position after the placement?

You are not expected to provide a permanent position for them once the programme is complete. However, a work placement opportunity can often be life changing for a young person. By nurturing their ambition and guiding them towards a future career path you can make a real difference, not only to them but to the communities you support.

How long is the placement?

The placement is for 12 weeks with 2 days per week at your company.
