The Skills Company has been involved in two national development projects, leading to the production of new learning resources designed to improve the quality of Study Programmes and help more young people progress.
The new resources, The Study Programmes: Modelling and Operation – e-guide and self-assessment tool, were launched at a national Study Programme conference held at UCL Institute of Education, London in January.
The e-guide provides clear, up-to-date information and advice, highlighting provider practice drawn from the experiences of FE colleges, Sixth Forms and independent providers who participated in a recent Leadership, Modelling and Operation project funded by DfE. The self-assessment tool that is a companion to the guide enables colleges and providers to evaluate their organisation’s practice in the management and delivery of Study Programmes.
The Skills Company was one of the independent providers selected to be involved in the development of the resources, and several areas of good practice from Skills Company Study Programmes have been included in the e-guide. The Skills Company is also hosting a national CPD event as part of the project dissemination.
The Skills Company has also contributed to another national initiative led by the Education and Training Foundation and the Adult Learning Improvement Network, aimed at improving the quality of work experience provision in all Study Programmes, contributing case study material, and hosting one of three regional dissemination events in March.
