Skills Company apprentice Lewis Wilkinson has won a prestigious national training award. Lewis from Colne in Lancashire, who is a Level 3 Refrigeration Service Engineering apprentice and is employed at Acme Facilities Group in Blackburn, was awarded the ACR Trainee of the Year accolade at a ceremony at the Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.
Lewis’s assessor at the Practical Refrigeration Training Centre (PRTC), Ian Cross said: “Lewis has done remarkably well, he’s a first class young engineer who has displayed excellence throughout his training. His success is down to structured training and the right learning environment helping him to achieve his goals.
PRTC, in partnership delivery with the Skills Company are very proud to be able to support students in their apprenticeship fields. This young engineer has a very bright future ahead of him and we are very proud to say he is one of ours. Acme Facilities Group are also to be applauded for providing the learning offer and mentorship which is so vital to ensure their workforce is able to deliver their customers expected expectations.”
