We have been shortlisted for various categories at the Skills for Business Awards. The awards recognise the impact learning has on businesses, individuals and communities in Greater Manchester. The awards ceremony will be held on 30 November at Emirates Old Trafford.

We are delighted to be shortlisted for the following categories:

  • Advanced Apprentice of the Year - George Eastwood at Lewis Facilities
  • Training Provider of the Year - The Growth Company
  • Medium Sized Business of the Year - Kids Around the Clock

As well as Skills for Business Awards, we have also been shortlisted for Asian Apprentice of the Year in the Health, Medical and Social Care sector. Neelam Rahman at Spamedica has been nominated for the award and her assessor, Tricia Tyler has said:

"Neelam has embraced the whole learning process in a holistic way, working hard on her assignments, attending off the job training and developing her skills around assessing clients, escorting and supporting clients throughout the clinical procedure. She has approached her work at Spamedica with commitment and skill."

"She is widely respected by her senior team, including her line manager Christopher, who has described her work as ‘excellent, she uses her initiative and has met all her assessment standards to a high degree and earlier than we would have expected her to’."

"Neelam’s culture is important to her, and she brings to her role her own values and diversity which has had a positive impact on the staff she works with and the client group. She speaks several Asian languages and has helped to support service users who have come to the clinic - she is accommodating and helpful to support the whole team, and to put service users at their ease."
