We spoke to learners at Tameside Training Centre about their experience with us and their plans for the future.

Janito: My name’s Janito Thomas and I am currently studying level 1 business admin, GCSE English and GCSE maths.

Bethany: My name’s Bethany Hargreaves and I’m doing the business admin course.

Janito: What I like about the course is the teachers, the support that they give me when I need them and that I get to learn new things every time.

Bethany: I like the course because it’ll help me in future and the tutors are good to get along with.

Janito: It’s quite small, it’s a small area so we get more support from the teachers and the people around me are nice.

Bethany: The Training Centre makes you feel safe, everyone’s very easy to get along with and the staff are very friendly.

Jack: My name’s Jack Gallagher and I’m on the construction course.

Scott: My name’s Scott Lawlor and I’m on construction.

Jack: I like that it gives me the opportunity to be creative with different source of materials such as wood, bricks and mortar and such.

Scott: It’s not repetitive, I get to mix in with all the different aspects of construction.

Jack: My plans are to finish my maths GCSE course, which I’m also doing here and possibly go onto a future career in either this or something along these lines.

Scott: I’d like to go on to do a level 2 diploma in construction because I do very much enjoy this course, I like the variety.

Janito: My plans is to try and get an apprenticeship in joinery or plumbing.

Bethany: I want to become a sports physio so after I’ve finished the course, I’ll go to college and do another course and then go to university.

Wakar: My name’s Wakar Ahmed, I’m a tutor at the Growth Company in Tameside. The best thing about my job is the fact that you’re knowing you’re making a difference, you’re supporting the learners, helping them achieve their kind of goals and targets.
