The Level 5 Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services is recognised as the professional management qualification for the health and social care sector. It provides the opportunity to build both managerial and care skills, whilst fulfilling the regulatory requirement for those looking to become managers of children’s homes or adult residential and domiciliary services.

The diploma, designed with and for employers, provides a flexible route to gaining a management qualification with progression achieved in small steps, through the accumulation of unit credits. It aims to equip managers with a wide range of skills and contains a mixture of compulsory and optional learning modules, enabling employers to tailor the qualification to fully meet the needs of their business.

The Level 5 Diploma will be studied as a Higher Apprenticeship. All candidates will be required to complete compulsory and optional units, which can be tailored to their specific sector, interests or job role. To pass the qualification, at least 90 credits must be achieved from a range of 19 units including:
