Course Overview

This course is for people who are unemployed and looking to gain more qualifications to go to university. 

This course has been designed to cover a range of topics - learning for us is not just about what happens in the classroom, it is about you sharing your new knowledge and experiences with your friends, family and community. You'll also have the opportunity to explore Manchester with trips to museums, Manchester Art Gallery and Manchester Cathedral. 

All classes will run from 10am - 2pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Extra tutorial support and e-learning activities will be available outside of lessons. 

Entry requirements

To qualify for funding you must be:

  • unemployed (if you are working part time or on a zero hours contract you will not be eligible)
  • live within Greater Manchester
  • either a UK or EU national, or have one of the following immigration/residency statuses: indefinite leave to remain in the UK / Refugee / Dependent of an EEA Migrant worker / Humanitarian protection.
  • have been resident in the UK or EU for at least 3 years

Applicants who are successful on this course will be offered places on our level 3 access to higher education diplomas starting in Autumn 2018.
