Course Overview

Full-time degree:

  • 2 year programme
  • 6 modules studied at Level 4, 6 modules studied at Level 5
  • Thursday daytime classes at The Skills Company, Oxford Street, Manchester
  • Validated by University of Bolton
  • Progression route for relevant Access to Higher Education and NVQ Programmes
  • Students will be expected to undertake a placement within a relevant Health and Social Care setting alongside the programme.  Full time students are required to undertake 15 hours per week in a paid or voluntary placement
  • Applicants are usually expected to hold a Level 3 qualification in a related subject; however substantial relevant work experience may also be acceptable

Part-time degree:

  • 3 year programme
  • 6 modules studied at Level 4, 6 modules studied at Level 5
  • Thursday morning classes at The Skills Company, Oxford Street, Manchester
  • Validated by University of Bolton
  • Progression route for relevant Access to Higher Education and NVQ  programmes
  • Students will be expected to undertake a placement within a relevant Health and Social Care setting alongside the programme.  Part-time students are required to undertake 7.5 hours per week in a paid or voluntary placement
  • Applicants are usually expected to hold a Level 3 qualification in a related subject; however substantial relevant work experience may also be acceptable

Tuition Fees:

All students are eligible to apply for a loan from Student Finance England to cover their tuition fees and living costs. Recruitment Process:

Potential students will need to complete an Expression of Interest form and return it to The Skills Company; forms can be obtained by emailing the Programme Leader.  An informal interview will then take place with the Programme Leader; references from tutors and the grades from current study will also be considered.  Following the interview applicants will be notified of the outcome by email and supplied with an application pack containing guidance on completing the online University of Bolton application form and applying for Student Finance.
