Course Overview

Who should attend?

Employees who may be part of a first response fire team.

What are the aims of the course?

• To provide delegates with the required knowledge and skills to fulfil the role of
Fire Team Member.

• To enable the Fire Team to work in unison and help to ensure the safety of
staff and personnel in the event of a fire prior to the arrival of the Fire Service.

What are objectives of the course?

  • To raise awareness of speed of fire spread
  • Appreciation of dangers of smoke
  • Action on discovery of fire
  • Capabilities and limitations of extinguishers
  • Using hose/hydrants and associated equipment
  • Health & Safety issues
  • Communications
  • Importance of team work

What will I learn?

Nature of fire, human behaviour in emergency situations, legislation, procedures, staff
training, hazard spotting, liaison with fire brigade, action in fires, crowd control, fire
fighting.

How much does it cost?

£195.00 + VAT per person (min 6, max 8 persons) this includes lunch and refreshments,
certificates of attendance and all course materials.
