Course Overview

The purpose of the course is to encourage students to critically explore education within a wider context. It will further build on, and expand, the skills developed during prior study.

Upon successful completion, there is the opportunity to progress in to managerial roles or further study; students wishing to pursue further qualifications within education can apply for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course.

How does it work?

The programme is designed for Learning and Skills sector practitioners who have been, or continue to be, engaged in training, teaching or educational development. Consequently, the programme will enable practitioners to engage in a systematic and reflective study of education, illustrated and informed by the diversity and difference in learning and teaching within different sectors of education.

How am I assessed?

Students will be assessed through the submission of assignments, presentations and an independent research project.

Tuition Fees:

All students are eligible to apply for a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England.  Students apply for the loan each year they are on programme; repayments begin once the student has completed the programme and only when earning over £21,000 per annum.
